MU Ellis Library Special Collections Sanborn Fire Insurance Map Collection 1908 #12
This is a Sanborn Fire Insurance Map from 1908. The Library occupied the first floor of the west wing (on the left) of the current Jesse Hall which at the time was called Academic Hall or New Academic Hall. The Ladies Society Hall was on the 2nd floor and the Ladies Gymnasium on the 3rd. The basement under the library was later turned into a graduate student reading room.
