MU Libraries

EndNote: Overview
Why use EndNote?

EndNote makes it easier to organize your research.

  • Is there an article you want to save? Click one or two buttons, and the article is saved as a reference in your EndNote library.
  • In your EndNote Library, organize your references into groups, search them by keyword, and keep track of which ones you have or haven't read.

EndNote makes it easier to find PDFs

  • Link EndNote to MU Libraries, and EndNote will download PDFs of your references and save them on your computer. Use one EndNote button to search the library for the PDFs of all your references.
  • Attach PDFs to references and highlight, annotate, and search them.

EndNote makes it easier to write and cite

  • With a click of a button, EndNote automatically adds citations and/or bibliographies into Word for you. You don't have to remember your citation style's rules, EndNote automatically formats the citations for you for over 5,000 different styles.
  • Want to switch your paper between APA and MLA? EndNote allows you to switch all of your citations and bibliography to a different style with a simple click.
