Majiyebo Hacim

 

Majiyebo Yacim started work with the Missourian Newspaper Library on November 12, 2018. She started work at the Journalism Library with Sandy Schiefer in 2020, and currently works as a Library Information Specialist, full time. Her duties include archiving the Missourian newspaper, handling patrons' requests for historical records, keeping the metadata of the resources up to date, handling e-reserves and working on library resources, and circulation duties. She also serves as Chief Decorator of the Library.

Lily Hunter

Lily Hunter joined the Journalism Library as a Library Information Specialist and the Evening Supervisor on September 7, 2021. Her duties include supervision of the library after business hours, circulation duties, managing the Journalism Library equipment, and working on library resources such as library guides (like this one!). She currently serves as a member of the University of Missouri Library System's I.D.E.A. committee. She also reviews resources and books for Booklist Magazine and The American Archivist, and works as a bookseller.

Sue Schuermann Retires

Sue Schuermann

After 31 years of service, Sue Schuermann retired from the Journalism Library in October of 2021. She served as the Senior Library Information Specialist and was instrumental in keeping the library moving through periods of great change. Her duties included managing equipment, handling patron requests for research, and circulation duties. She contributed to our welcoming, peaceful atmosphere by providing all the plants in the library and taking great care of them. As librarian in the School of Journalism, SANDY SCHIEFER supervises archiving of the Columbia Missourian and VOX magazine, making certain that details of community life are saved for future use and study. She assists journalism faculty and students in their research and education. She also serve as a liaison to other areas, aiding students from geography, political science, public affairs and international studies. Missouri School of Journalism
