Books

To find books, search the MOBIUS Union Catalog (a catalog of the collections of all Missouri academic libraries).

• Find a Specific book
  • Search by title or author
• Find books on a topic
  • Search by keyword (default search) for your terms
    • Ex.:  educational administration
    • It is often helpful to start with a keyword search to identify a few books that will be of interest.  Look at the records describing these books.  There is a field labeled "Subjects" that lists the official subject headings assigned to those books.  Use those specific subject headings to find more books on your topic.
  • Search by subject (Library of Congress) - requires use of subject headings (see above)
    • Ex.: educational leadership
    • Ex.: school management and organization

Once you find a book that you need, click the Request button to have the book delivered to an academic library close to you.  Full instructions for accessing and requesting MOBIUS items can be found here.

For books not available via MOBIUS, you can search WorldCat (a union catalog of books and other materials held in libraries worldwide).  If you find a book in WorldCat not available via MOBIUS, you can request an interlibrary loan.  The most efficient method of requesting a book via  interlibrary loan is to work with your local institution.
