U.S. Plays
- These plays all come from the Internet Archive, most of them come from series of books called Best American Plays.
- The U.S. Plays have been organized by date and by author.
- You can read the entire play online if you sign up for a FREE account or sign in with Google.
PLAYS BY EUROPEANS
- The European plays are mostly those of Shaw, Pinter, Stoppard, and Ibsen.
ANCIENT GREEK AND ROMAN PLAYS
- Aeschylus, Sophocles, and Euripides in the Chicago series by Richmond Lattimore and Aristophanes and Menander.
- Plautus,Terrence, and Seneca.
Monologues
- The Women's and Men's monologues come from The Ultimate Scene and Monologue Sourcebook by Ed Hooks.
- The link is the start line of the monologue. When you connect to the full-text of the play the start line should be highlighted in blue.
- You can read the entire play online if you sign up for FREE account on sign in with Google.
- The end line for the monologue, but in most cases, it will be obvious.
- Sometimes you will need to cut one or two lines from another character to make the monologue work.
- You can find paper copies of most of the plays by searching for the TITLE of the PLAY in the Ellis library catalog.
- Consult The Ultimate Scene and Monologue Sourcebook if you have questions, want a synopsis of the play, or need then end line of the monologue.
