PRESENTER BIOGRAPHIES

Marie Concannon has worked in MU Libraries' Government Documents Department for 22 years and is the regional coordinator for the Federal Depository Library Program in Missouri.  She is a former Chair of the U.S. Depository Library Council. She began her career as a librarian at the State Historical Society of Missouri, where she felt like a kid in a candy shop for 10 years.  She is proud to be a lifelong resident of Missouri.

Susan Ditch is the Government Documents and Reference Librarian for the Reference Services Division of the Missouri State Library within the Secretary of State’s Office. Her primary role is coordinating the State Publications Access Program, which is designed to provide access to state publications for all citizens of Missouri. Susan has worked in state government for the past seven years including six years as a Librarian for the Missouri Department of Corrections. Susan received her Bachelor’s Degree in History from Truman State University and her Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Arizona.

Stephanie Hallam is the Education Information Librarian at Southeast Missouri State University where she co-leads a campus-wide open educational resource (OER) initiative, supports departments in the College of Education, Health, and Human Studies, and develops the children’s literature collection. She has co-presented eight regional and national workshops on open pedagogy and using government documents as OER as well as two articles with Pat Willingham. Stephanie enjoys hiking, dancing, and living with her husband and two beautiful daughters.

Rebecca C. Hyde (she/her) is Research & Instruction Librarian, Depository Library Coordinator, and Professor at Saint Louis University's Pius XII Memorial Library. Rebecca has spent the last 21 years working in FDLP Libraries helping patrons and libraries find, use, and fall in love with government information.

Laura Kromer is the Director of the Reference Services Division of the Missouri State Library within the Secretary of State’s Office. Reference Services’s primary focus is providing library services to employees in the executive, judicial, and legislative branches of Missouri state government. Reference Services is also home to the State Publications Access Program which was created in 2004 to collect publications from Missouri’s state agencies and house them together in one online collection. In addition to serving state employees, Reference Services also provides research assistance to libraries and the general public. Laura considers herself blessed to mesh her love of libraries and government together by working in the State Library for the past 8 years. She received her BA in Political Science and MLS from the University of Missouri.

Lisa Pritchard is the Director of Library Services and the FDLP Coordinator at Jefferson College in Hillsboro, Missouri. Lisa currently serves as Chair of the U.S. Depository Library Council and contributes to the Council’s work to understand the long-term impacts of COVID-19 on depository libraries. Jefferson College is a small community college library that also serves as a public library—this allows many opportunities for Lisa to engage in outreach and education and she finds a wide variety of ways to incorporate Government information into these efforts.

Pat Willingham has been the Depository Coordinator since 2004 and at Southeast Missouri State University since 1977.  She has been a reference and instruction librarian for many years.  She loves sharing the wonders of government documents with students and faculty and sees docs as the logical foundation for OER.
