Mizzou Greek Life consists of four councils (IFC, NPHC, MGC, PHA) all driven by the values of scholarship, leadership, service, and brotherhood & sisterhood.

IFC Campus Involvement
  • Homecoming: "Each year, fraternities and sororities team up to celebrate Homecoming. Chapter houses display elaborate decorations. The chapters’ floats are an integral part of the annual Homecoming parade."
  • Greek Week: "Each spring semester, fraternities and sororities host a week of friendly competition. Through games, contests and sports, the annual celebration brings the entire fraternity and sorority community closer together."
  • Additional Involvement: "Fraternities serve as gateways to involvement in the broader community."
  • Philanthropy & Service: "Service is one of IFC’s core values. That is why fraternity chapters sponsor projects to address the needs of Mizzou and the local community."

Multicultural Greek Council (MGC)

"Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) strives to be an all-inclusive, culturally diverse environment. By fostering cultural awareness, along with FSL values, MGC meets the needs of its members and provides them people to call home."

National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC)

"The National Pan-Hellenic Council, Inc. (NPHC) is a coalition of the nine largest historically Black Greek-letter fraternities and sororities, currently representing over 1.5 million members internationally."

NPHC Events
  • Chapter Charter Day: This is a one-day event that occurs on the date of a chapter’s chartering at the University of Missouri. 
  • Chapter Founders Day: This is a one-day event that occurs on the founding day of each organization under the NPHC.
  • Chapter Mini Week: This is a three-day set of events that is hosted by each individual fraternity and sorority under the NPHC each semester. This is a condensed version of the full chapter week. Each chapter will host events like community service opportunities, donation drives, fundraisers, etc
  • Chapter Week: This is a dedicated week full of events hosted by each individual chapter under the NPHC. As each fraternity and sorority hosts their Chapter Week, they may include events like community service opportunities, donation drives, fundraisers, etc. Each chapter hosts a week full of events every semester. This is a great way to learn more about the values and community of a chapter that you’re interested in.
  • NPHC Mini Week: This is a three-day set of events that is led by the NPHC. It is a condensed version of the full NPHC week and is a great way to learn more about the NPHC, it’s chapters and how to get involved. The NPHC Mini Week occurs each semester.
  • NPHC Week: This is a week full of events led by the NPHC. NPHC Week is a great way to meet members of the council, individual organizations, learn about the council and its chapters and support their presence on campus. This seven-day series of events occurs each semester.
  • Step Show: A form of artistic dance and musical entertainment that occurs the Friday before Mizzou’s Homecoming. This event involves each NPHC fraternity and sorority as well as other dance and performance groups that are invited to participate.
  • Yard Show: A form of artistic dance and musical entertainment performance shown during Reading Day each spring semester. Each of the NPHC chapters discuss the history of their chapter and organization.

Panhellenic Association (PHA)

"The Panhellenic Association (PHA) is the governing body of recognized National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) sororities. PHA works toward providing a community of values and connection that unites all sorority women."

PHA Sorority Life
  • Homecoming: "Organizations and fraternities and sororities pair up and work together to place first overall based on various events. This includes collecting food for Tiger Pantry, donating and volunteering at the nation’s largest, student-run blood drive, performing in talent shows, skits and dances, helping Decorate the District, creating Campus Decorations, which are 16 feet tall and match the chapters’ themes, and participating in the Spirit Rally and Parade."
  • Greek Week: "Greek Week is a period in April where fraternity and sorority chapters participate in programs and events that celebrate the values of the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life. Its mission is to foster individual and communal growth within the four councils by organizing events centered around hands-on service, sportsmanship and teamwork."
  • Service & Philanthropy: "Mizzou PHA Chapters raised more than $475,000 combined for beneficiaries last year"
  • Academics: "All sorority GPAs are consistently higher than all-women and all-undergraduate GPAs"
