Recruitment

Recruitment varies between the four different Greek Councils. 

IFC Recruitment

Formal Recruitment:

  • "Formal recruitment is a 5-day process that occurs the week before classes begin. Potential New Members (PNMs) will visit with all IFC organizations and have the opportunity for follow-up visits with chapters of their choosing."

Informal Recruitment:

  • "The informal recruitment process occurs all year long with the exception of the formal recruitment days. The informal recruitment process involves more direct communication with chapters."

MGC Intake

"Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) intake process provides is personal and engaging. Our chapters meet you in-person at our events to find the one you most connect with."

Ways to express interest:

  • Follow MGC on social media to stay up-to-date
  • Attend an MGC event
  • Ask questions to learn how you fit in with each chapter

NPHC Intake

"The National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) membership intake process is conducted later in the academic year. The chapter embrace a lifetime commitment to philosophy and value academic achievement, political awareness and community service."

Ways to express interest:

  • Attend chapter programs and events
  • Attend an interest or informational for that chapter
  • Get to know the members of the organization or directly reach out
  • Research the group online
  • Show your involvement on campus
  • Connect with NPHC on social media

PHA Recruitment

Primary Recruitment:

  • "Primary recruitment occurs at the beginning of fall semester and includes orientation events, several recruitment rounds and the beloved bid day tradition."

Continuous Open Bidding (COB):

  • "This is an informal process that takes place following primary recruitment. The COB period is designed in a way that allows potential members the opportunity to become acquainted or re-acquainted with different chapters on campus."
