ABELL
1. Click on the “My Archive” link on the left side of the page.
2. Click on “Create a Profile.” or sign-in if you already have a profile.
3. New users only: Fill out the requested information and click the “Submit” button
4. New User only: Confirm your details, then click “Go to MyArchive..
5. Click on the “Register for Author Alerts” link.
6. Click on “Select New Author.”
7. Select your authors, then click the “Select” button.
8. An e-mail will be sent whenever new texts by your selected authors are added.

Also, you can save and return to searches.


ABI/Inform

There are three types of search alerts:  New search alerts, recent search alerts, and publication alerts. A free ProQuest My Research account is required to use these features.

Follow these steps to create a new search alert:

  1. Run the desired search from either the Basic or the Advanced page.
  2. On the Results page, mouse over “Save Search/Alert.”
    You will see the “Create Alert” tab, click it.
  3. Complete the required information and click “Create Alert.”
  4. You will see a confirmation page, summarizing your information. If the information is correct, click “Close.” Otherwise, you can click “Delete this Alert” to delete the alert.
  5. You will receive an e-mail at the e-mail address you provided asking you to confirm your e-mail addresses. Open the e-mail and click the "Confirm this e-mail address" hyperlink to finalize the alert process.

A RSS feed for a new search can be made the same way

Follow these steps to create an alert on a recent search:

  1. From the Basic or Advanced page, click the “Recent Searches” link . Or, from the Results page, click the “Recent Searches” link located underneath the search box.
    You will see the Recent Searches page.
  2. Locate the desired search, and mouse over the “Actions” tab next to the search.
    You will see the “Create Alert” link.
  3. Complete the required information and click “Create Alert.”
  4. You will see a confirmation page, summarizing your information. If the information is correct, click “Close.” Otherwise, you can click “Delete this Alert” to delete the alert.
  5. You will receive an e-mail at the e-mail address you provided asking you to confirm your e-mail addresses. Open the e-mail and click the "Confirm this e-mail address" hyperlink to finalize the alert process.

A RSS feed for a recent search can be made the same way

  1. Locate the desired publication using the Publication search.
  2. From the Publication page, click the “Create Alert” link.
    You will see the “Create Alert” page.
  3. Complete the required information and click “Create Alert.”
  4. You will see a confirmation page, summarizing your information. If the information is correct, click “Close.” Otherwise, you can click “Delete this Alert” to delete the alert.

ABLEDATA

To get alerts on new products and information on ABLEDATA, click on the "Twitter Follow Us" icon in the bottom right-hand corner.  Another option is to create an account to save searches.


Academic Search Complete

There are two ways to create search alerts in Academic Search Complete, one for new searches, and one for recent searches. A free My EBSCOhost Account is required to use these features.

Follow these steps to create an alert for a new search.

  1. Start a search
  2. Click on "Share" at the top under the search box
  3. Click on "Email Alert"
  4. Fill in the requested information and click "Save Alert"

Follow these steps to create an alert for a recent search

  1. Start a search
  2. Click on "Search History" at the top under the search box
  3. Click on "Save Searches/Alerts"
  4. Fill in the requested information and check "Alerts"
  5. The screen will expand.  Fill in more required information and click "Save"
  6. On the new screen click "Continue"
  7. The alerts should be complete.

ACM Digital Library

The Table-of-Contents (TOC) alert service sends an email alert when a new issue of an ACM journal, magazine, newsletter or proceedings has been posted in the Digital Library.

  1. From the Digital Library main page, click on “Login” in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
  2. New users will need to click on “Create my ACM Web Account now.”
  3. Click on the “Continue” button under “ I am Not an ACM or SIG Member”
  4. Once logged in, click on the “TOC Service” link on the main page.

Note:  To save a search instead, follow the same process but check either "Permanent Search" Or Temporary Search" instead of "Alerts."  This will save the search in your account for future use.  It can be found under "Search History."


AdAge Datacenter

AdAge offers several social media options to stay updated on news, as well as an RSS feed.
To subscribe to any of those, click on "Follow Us" in the upper right of the homepage and choose a platform to subscribe to.


ADforum

Registering with Adforum.com allows you to view all of the ads on the site, use advanced search tools to search over 90,000 ads in the creative library and research information on over 20,000 agencies around the world.

  1. Click on "Manage your ad playlist, click here to Log On or register for free" at the upper left-hand side of the screen to sign in or create an account.
  2. When registering, select the lists you wish to receive.

American Chemical Society Journals

American Chemical Society Journals has options to either receive alerts for specific journals or issues or to create a search alert or RSS feed for a specific search. A free ACS ID account is required to use these features.

Follow these steps to set up a search alert.

  1. Run a search.
  2. On the top right of the search results click on the "Save Search" or "RSS Feed" icon.

  1. Click on the “Alerts” link in the navigational toolbar.
  2. Click to subscribe to email alerts for individual articles and table of contents, or RSS feed.
  3. You may sign up for either option or both options.

American Institute of Physics Journals allows users to sign up for new content alerts and newsletters. A free AIP Publishing account is required to use this feature.

  1. Click on "Sign Up for Alerts" located on the right of the toolbar.
  2. Select which journals you'd like to receive alerts or newsletters for and click "Submit."

American Law Institute Online

American Law Institute Online offers a monthly and weekly newsletter with information about new titles and content in their database.
Follow these steps to sign up for the newsletter.

  1. Click on "Connect" located in the top right corner of the page.
  2. Click on "Subscribe" from the drop-down list.
  3. Fill out the required information and indicate which newsletters you'd like to receive.

American Psychiatric Association Practice Guidelines

The American Psychiatric Association does offer publication alerts when new content is added to the database, but a free Psychiatry Online account is required to use these features.
Follow these steps to sign up for alerts.

  1. Click on your name at the top of the page after registering and logging in. This will take you to the "My Account" page.
  2. Click "Email Alerts."
  3. Click "Sign up for Alerts."
  4. Fill out the required information and choose which journals you'd like to updated on, then click "Update Preferences."
