Art

Tips, techniques, & resources to help you with research papers, projects, and creative endeavors.

In arts and humanities research, secondary sources are works that interpret, describe, or evaluate primary sources. They include academic journal articles, exhibition reviews, analysis or overviews of an artist's work, etc. They may be found in books, journals, magazines, blog post, podcasts, or other formats. Some art books are primary sources, such as artist's books and exhibition catalogues meant to be viewed alongside a current exhibition. This guide explains in more detail about source type in art.
