Known Locations of Identical Lundeen Jeffersons

The bronze statue of Thomas Jefferson on Francis Quadrangle was sculpted by Colorado-based artist George Lundeen.

According to news reports from 2001, the statue purchased by the MU Jefferson Club was the 36th of 36 identical Jeffersons cast by Lundeen.

The "siblings" of MU's statue can be found in a variety of public and private locations across the United States: from the Merchant's Square historical district in Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia, to a county administration building in Golden, Colorado. A cast installed in Decatur, Georgia, in 2000 was removed following public protests in the summer of 2020. As of August 2020, two casts were available for purchase through private galleries.
