Journalism - Finding and Using Images, Maps, Video & Audio: Citing Images

An image is intellectual property and must be cited like other resources. They should include:

• Title

• Creator name

• Repository (archive, library, museum, etc.)

• Image source (website, database, book, etc.)

• Date accessed

The URL, if accessed on the Web, and rights information should also be included.

Format of the citation will vary based on your choice of citation style manual.
