Data Management Plans: Submitting Data to MOspace Institutional Repository

MOspace Institutional Repository is the digital institutional repository of the University of Missouri System and is a joint initiative of the University libraries, the Office of Library Systems, and the Division of Information Technology.

It is a permanent digital storehouse of research and knowledge focusing on works created by those connected with the University of Missouri.

Why use MOspace Institutional Repository for Data Archiving?

• Permanent URL. DOI provided for your data set.
• Metadata assigned by the University Libraries
• Multiple file formats accepted
• Accessible throughout the world
• Crawled by Google and other search engines
• Commitment to preservation

Note that MOspace Institutional Repository is most appropriate for permanent storage of completed data sets (e.g., data sets that accompany journal articles). It is not the appropriate place for data in process.

Remember that DMPs are subject to peer review, so the nature of the plan will be specific to your project. If you will be using MOspace: Institutional Repository as part of your data archiving plan (and we encourage you to do so!), you can say something like the following:

"[X type of data] will be deposited in MOspace Institutional Repository, the University of Missouri's digital institutional repository. MOspace is based on MIT's DSpace technology and is a joint venture of the University of Missouri's Division of Information Technology and the University Libraries. MOspace items will include appropriate metadata and a permanent URL. Items will be freely available via the MOspace web site at https://mospace.umsystem.edu and will be searchable via Google and other search engines."
