The early minutes of this video from the UM Libraries Special Collections has information on fashion from medieval times.

The Museum at FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) has contributed approximately 250 images of its permanent collection to Artstor, providing highlights of western fashion from the 17th to the 21st centuries.

This collection of Edwardian fashion plates was compiled from the Costume folders in the RISD Fleet Library Picture Collection, and used to research European high fashion from 1910 to 1914. Some plates originally published in Les Modes, a French fashion periodical distributed in Paris, London, Berlin and New York from 1901-1937, published by Manzi, Joyant and Co.( Paris).

The Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD) has contributed nearly 100 images of early 20th century French fashion plates from La Gazette du Bon Ton.

Magnum Photos has contributed more than 131,000 journalistic photographs to Artstor. The selection spans the globe from Alaska to the Amazon and Oman to the Arctic Circle. Includes photos of designers.
