The American Association of Universities (AAU) uses citation information from Thomson Reuters’ InCites Benchmarking & Analytics as a Phase I indicator of membership. The underlying data for InCites comes from the Web of Science Core Collection and includes journal, conference proceeding, and book citation indexes. :
For books the AAU Policy states: " The Membership Committee gathers data on book publications to represent scholarship at AAU institutions – especially in the fields of arts, humanities, and social sciences."
The AAU Membership Committee does not provide a list of the books for which it gathers data.
