The Grape and Wine Institute (GWI) is a collaborative partnership between the Missouri wine and grape industry and the University of Missouri. Learn more about their events, service lab, and publications at gwi.missouri.edu.
Augusta, Missouri, was designated as the first American Viticultural Area (AVA) in the United States on June 20, 1980. Missouri now has several AVAs in addition to Augusta, such as Hermann AVA, Ozark Mountain AVA, and Ozark Highlands AVA.
