Citation Styles & Tools: Chicago

Chicago style is typically used in the humanities, most often in history.

• The humanities use the Notes-Bibliography system
• The physical, natural, and social sciences more often use the Author-Date system. 

Keep in mind that the footnote or endnote refers to the citations at the bottom of your paper or at the end of your paper.  The bibliography entry is formatted differently than the footnote and is contained in a "Bibliography" page at the end of your paper.

It's a style that is essentially the same as Chicago with only a few modifications.
