A revised and expanded version of Masabih al-sunna, a hadith collection by al-Baghawi (d. 1117), the four volumes of this frequently-cited set contain some 5000 representative traditions from many works.
"Contains 690 ḥadith, out of which 513 have been taken from the Bukḥ̮ar̮i." A "manual" only in the sense that its purpose is to give the modern reader a representative impression of hadith writings and their significance in the daily life of ordinary Muslims. All text is in English and Arabic.
