If you just want to know the law on a particular issue, here are some excellent legal resources: the Cause of Action (COA) books, and, for those researching Missouri Law, the Missouri Bar CLEs or West's Missouri Practice Series.

                                West Practice

These books explain the law in its simplest terms, and can save a lot of time.  They are not freely available, but can be read in print in the MU Law Library.

Law Library Database Resources

The law library has a public version of Westlaw, accessible on the terminals in the reference area.  It is especially useful for searching Missouri resources.

Other databases are accessible through the library's Online Legal Resources page.
