Libraries on the Mizzou Campus

Ellis Library from the North Entrance

Ellis Library

  • Ellis Library is located in the heart of campus next to Memorial Union and Jesse Hall. You can enter it either off of Lowry Mall (entrance shown in the image), or off of Speaker Circle. 
  • Most general library
  • Open 24/5 (24 hours a day, 5 days a week, closes at 7:00pm Friday and Saturday)

Health Science Library

  • The J. Otto Lottes Health Sciences Library is located in the northwestern part of the Health Sciences Center. However, it is currently closed for renovations. 
  • While the library is closed, most services are still available via virtual assistance.

Journalism Library

  • The Journalism Library is located in the Donald W. Reynolds Journalism Institute. 
  • The Journalism Library was the world's first Journalism Library founded in 1908. 
  • They primarily serve the students, faculty, staff and alumni of the MU School of journalism.

Law Library

  • The Law Library is located in Hulston Hall.
  • While the Law Library caters to this primary audience, other campus affiliates are welcome to visit their space and use many of the library resources during their open hours.

Mathematical Sciences Library

  • The Mathematical Sciences Library is located in Room 206 on the second floor of the Mathematical Sciences Building.

Vet Med Library

  • The Zalk Veterinary Medical Library is located in room W218 of the Veterinary Medicine Building.

Geology Library

  • The Geological Sciences Library is located in the Geology Building. 
  • The Geology Library is a US Geological Survey Depository.
  • It also provides access to print and digital maps; topographic, geologic, and thematic maps for the entire US; and other resources. We are also a significant collection for the history of earth sciences.

Engineering Library

  • The Engineering Library is Located in Lafferre Hall. 
  • All students are welcome to use the Engineering Library and may find that it provides a nice area for quiet group study.
