Plays & Monologues in Print & Online

Plays may be published individually or in anthologies or collected works. Those in our library collection will be listed in Discover@MU by title and author.
If you're not looking for a specific play, search Drama as a subject. This retrieves books about drama, but also examples of drama, individual plays and collections. You can also do a subject search for plays dealing with a specific topic or set in a specific place:
prejudices--drama
Missouri--Lebanon--drama

Monologues are often published in collections. To find these in Discover@MU, search for "monologues" as a subject. Use the quotation marks to force a search for the plural, so you don't retrieve things on the rhetorical concept of monologue. To exclude the many records of musical monologues add NOT music to your search.

To limit your search to online materials, run a search, then look in the left sidebar for Filter by Format and click to limit to ebooks. (Note that access to some ebooks is limited to a students/employees of a specific campus.)

Plays and monologues published within books or in periodicals may be found by searching the various online sources, but the following indexes are also helpful in identifying where they may be found.
