Library facilities are closed beginning Friday, March 20th at 5:00 p.m. through April 13th (this date may change). Always check the Libraries' website for the latest information about our hours and services. Librarians and staff will be working remotely to provide services and resources that can be delivered electronically.
As face to face classes are being moved online, keep in mind that you can access many library resources from wherever you are. Here is a basic primer to library services, focusing on what can and cannot be done remotely. As always, we will do our best to support Mizzou students, faculty, and staff. Please contact us if you experience any difficulties as you work or research.
Last minute citation question? Want help with research? Need to reach us from off campus? Ask the librarians! You can email us or chat with a librarian from the convenience of your home. Chat is available 24/7, except overnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
Many University of Missouri library materials are available to you even if you can't make it to campus to pick up physical items. Use specific databases or Discover@MU to find online resources. We have hundreds of databases that provide access to journal articles, e-books, video, and more!
Instructors: Please communicate with your subject librarian if you need online resources to support your teaching. We are making some funds available for e-books and streaming media (i.e. films) to support specific instructional needs this spring.
Many publishers and content providers have opened some of their resources to assist universities with moving classes to online only. This includes access to e-textbooks, databases, articles/journals, and videos. Please visit our guide to see the full list of resources available through complimentary access.
See our Off-campus Access Guide for help accessing online resources.
We will continue to process requests that can be acquired and delivered electronically. This service is available for current MU students, faculty and staff only. Learn more about Interlibrary Loan and other related services.

Our subject librarians remain available to deliver instruction on information literacy concepts and research practices through the hosting of of group instruction sessions via Zoom and the scheduling of individual research consultations through MU Connect. Librarians will also work with faculty to ensure that course materials are made available through our e-reserves system.
All faculty are welcome to use the videos, tutorials, modules, and other materials linked on our Instructional Resources page. If you do not find the types of instructional materials you’d like to use for your course, or if you have an idea you’d like to share, please use the request button on the Instructional Resources page and complete the form.
Please communicate with your subject librarian if you need subscription online resources to support your teaching. Some publishers are offering temporary access to resources that we would not normally be able to acquire. We are also making some funds available for e-books and streaming media (i.e. films) to support specific instructional needs this spring.
Please do NOT return materials right now. We are ceasing overdue notices and will consider all materials due on May 15th. This includes MOBIUS, Prospector, and Interlibrary Loan materials unless we contact you directly about a specific title.
