MOspace at MU: MU Electronic Theses and Dissertations

For submission and approval processes for theses and dissertations at the University of Missouri, please see the Graduate School’s thesis and dissertation information (process overview, submission guidelines, checklist, formatting, technology guidelines, etc.)

If you have submitted your thesis or dissertation to the Graduate School and are awaiting publication in MOspace and/or ProQuest, please see below for more information.

Theses and Dissertations and the MU Libraries

Electronic theses and dissertations (ETDs) that clear all Graduate School processes for completion and approval are sent to the Libraries for processing and permanent archiving and publication in the MOspace institutional repository. Once the Libraries receives a semester's batch of ETDs, librarians and staff check each one to match it with information provided with the submission and add additional information to make it findable, accessible, and citeable. This submission metadata is gathered and processed as a batch, which is then uploaded to MOspace. After the files receive their permanent home MOspace, the files and metadata are harvested once again and matched with ProQuest orders, and the relevant files and data are sent as a batch to ProQuest, which usually has a 6-10 week processing time to deposit manuscripts and fulfill print orders.
