AI: Advice and Resources

AI, or artificial intelligence, is a big topic. There's no way to cover all of it but I do want to put some quick advice:

1. Don't trust them outright.

Try to remember they don't KNOW anything - rather, they put characters together in a pattern that looks like it could be right.

2. Always be concerned with surveillance and privacy.

That is, being watched and giving away private information. This is especially true when it comes to patients, and you!!

3. Lastly, remember, technology is a tool.

How it is configured and deployed matters. In this, there is no way for you to actively influence their bias, which can put patients at risk.

Missouri Libraries has put together a libguide on AI. Rae recommends bookmarking this page to refer back to when needed.
