What is the Lean Library privacy policy?
When using the Lean Library extension, you remain completely anonymous. The browser extension does not collect any personal information unless you actively choose to share it. Your browsing activity is not linked to your identity. Read more about the Lean Library privacy statement here.
If you chose to set up a Lean Library Workspace account, Lean Library will collect your name, email address, and role to manage your account. Only the content you actively add or save within your Workspace account is linked to that account. Your browsing activity is not recorded by your Workspace account. Does Lean Library replace the VPN?
No, Lean Library does not replace the Virtual Private Network (VPN). When you are not on a campus network, Lean Library will alert you to MU Library subscribed content. You will be prompted to authenticate via SSO to access the content. When the VPN is connected, you are already on the campus network. Lean Library will still provide information on what content is available or how to request it.
Do I have to use Lean Library to access Mizzou resources when I am off-campus?
No, you do not have to use Lean Library to access library electronic resources off-campus. Lean Library is a tool that makes accessing licensed content easier. It is not necessary for access.
How can I uninstall the Lean Library extension?
In most browsers, you can uninstall a browser by right clicking on the extension icon in your browser bar and selecting "Remove".
Will I have access to Lean Library after I graduate and my Mizzou affiliation ends?
Once your affiliation with Mizzou end, the Lean Library extension will continue to display, but you will not be able to authenticate with your MU ID for access. Since Lean Library is a tool that assists in determining whether or not Mizzou Libraries has access, we recommend that you uninstall the extension once you graduate or leave Mizzou.
