Looking at different voir dires in the news can be an excellent way to learn what to do and what not to do.
In the Casey Anthony murder trial, the defense attorney did an excellent job of laying a foundation for his strategy and selecting jury members that would be most open to that strategy.
There are other issues that correlate with the voir dire process. In the James Holmes trial, the defense attorneys are attempted to move the trial to a different jurisdiction. The attorneys were concerned about too much media coverage and prejudice in the current jurisdiction. It is part of the attorney's job to have the trial conducted and have jurors selected who are as impartial as possible.
