Study Aids for MU Law Students: Home

A compilation of the study aids available to MU law students in the Reserve Room and elsewhere in the law library's collection. Includes brief descriptions, call numbers, and subject / Last updated by Annaleigh Hobbs, JD '25

Introduction

This guide is designed to help students at MU Law locate useful supplemental study resources for law school courses. Resources are available for all substantive courses. The materials include electronic resources, books, audio CDs, and flashcards.  Use the drop down menus under the tabs to locate particular types of study aids.

Please remember that supplemental materials are meant to enhance, not replace, the assigned classroom material. Your professor can advise you on supplements that may be particularly useful aids in exam preparation.

Prefer Print?

To search for items in the law library and to find out if they can be checked out, search in library resources. Ask a librarian or reference/circulation assistant for help if needed.

CALI

Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction (CALI)

CALI lessons are interactive, computer-based tutorial written by law professors and librarians to help you learn the law. We recommend you use CALI lessons to learn or reinforce legal concepts and to review for exams.

Access CALI Lessons on the Internet

  • Go to the CALI.
  • To register for the first time, click on the "Register" link at the top-right of the page.
  • You will be asked to enter the school’s authorization code. You can obtain this code from a Law Librarian, or IT staff. During the registration process you will also create your own password. In subsequent visits to use lessons, you will only need to enter your username and your password.

Exam Bank

Exam Bank

Mizzou Law professors may provide copies of their previous exams to help students study.  This exam bank is only for the use of Mizzou Law students, and is thus password protected.  The password was sent to your school email by the librarians.  If you cannot find the email, you may retrieve the password at the Circulation Desk in the law library.

Some professors may provide copies of their previous exams by posting them to course management systems such as TWEN or Canvas rather than on this site.  Check with your professor if you have questions about whether past exams will be provided, and where they will be made available.

Access

Mizzou Law students can access the study aids package from on or off-campus. If you are on your laptop or off-campus, you’ll be prompted for your Mizzou pawprint and password.  Then, sign in with or set up a personalized account in Wolters Kluwer. (You don’t have to set up a personalized account but you won’t see our normal ‘shelf of books’ unless you do. You can still access them, but you’ll need to search by title or topic in the search bar. )

Using the System

There are almost 200 titles in this package. They are arranged by subject, so you can easily find the titles for the classes you are taking. If you are a fan of a certain series, you can filter the titles ‘By Series’ to see all the titles in that series.

Once you’ve determined the title you want to read, you can read it online or you can download it to read offline. To read online, simply click the link next to Online Reading options (below). To download, click the download link. You will need to download the reader as well. A link to download the iPublishCentral reader will be provided on the download page.
