Resources for Medical Students: Images

The NCBI Images Database has now been folded into PubMed Central. To search for specific images on PubMed Central, go to the Advanced Search Page and search the [Figure/Table Caption] field. Approximately 3 million images from biomedical literature deposited in full text resources at the NCBI.

From the U.S. National Library of Medicine, OpenI is a search engine that locates freely available biomedical images and selected text from medical literature.

Tips on searching for images in UpToDate. When you open an image, you'll see an option to Export to Powerpoint.

Includes both pathologic and normal images, both gross and microscopic views.
