Mule Collection at Zalk Veterinary Medical Library: Home

MU's College of Veterinary Medicine has had a Mule Team since 1984. As of 2022, the current team includes: Boone and George, the driving team; Tim and Terry, retired but still enjoy attention and getting their photographs taken; and Bess and Rose, the youngest mules and trainees for the driving team.

• Mules are hybrids: the offspring of a mare (female horse) and a jack (male donkey).
• Missouri mules were declared the state animal in 1995.
• Mizzou's stacked logo features the shape of a mule head in the center, to honor the significant role of the Missouri mule in the state's history.
