Bankruptcies

Unless sealed, most documents filed in bankruptcy cases are public records. Access those records by contacting the county clerk's office or PACER.

Traffic Crash Reports

Traffic crash reports are a vital first step when assessing the strength or weakness of any potential legal claim that may arise from a crash. First, you must figure out the investigating agency as this entity is who possesses the report and is capable of releasing it to you. Second, it will best aid you to have some initial details such as the names of the parties involved, the date of the crash, and/or the location of the crash. This information is often best obtained from your client. However, if the information is unknown, try searching the web for news articles pertaining to the crash. You may also consider contacting the police agencies closest to the locations of the crash and providing the information you do know in an effort to gain clarity on whether this particular agency investigated the crash or whether they have any information that may aid you in your search process.

Missouri

Find the agency's website via a Google search to uncover its methods for release of traffic crash reports. Often the agencies are tied to their city or county. For example, you could try a Google search for "police department in Columbia Missouri" or "police department in Boone County Missouri." Below are a few agencies for you to consider:

    • Search here for preliminary information relating to traffic crashes investigated by MSHP.
