Early Printed Editions of Ovid

Ovid (43 BCAD 17/18) was one of the greatest Roman poets of the age of Augustus, first emperor of Rome. His works have had a profound influence on literature from his own time up until the present day, and were also an important source of inspiration for Renaissance and later art. 

Special Collections has a large number of early printed editions of Ovid, many of which are illustrated. In the editions listed below, Ovid's poetry is printed in Latin unless otherwise noted.
