EndNote Mac

Guide to setting up Endnote for Mac

Trouble Shooting

EndNote is having difficulties keeping up with the changing Mac OS, but fixes are being released.

In general, you want to have the latest EndNote release, (this means you might have to download three or four updates, up-to-date Mac OS, and a recent version of Word.  If one or more of these is older or newer than they other two, you will have problems.

Once everything is working, I suggest you leave it alone. Getting the newest MacOS might interfere with EndNote or mean that you have to update everything else as well.

Add Cite While You Write Toolbar to Word

To add the Cite While You Write toolbar to Word. In EndNote, open the Endnote X7 pulldown and select CUSTOMIZER.

When that loads, check the top box Cite While You Write if it is not already checked, and then click next at the bottom of the window. If the toolbar does not load, it is most like a compatibility problem. Use the links below to see which versions of EndNote, Word, and OS, are compatible.
