EndNote Mac

Guide to setting up Endnote for Mac

General Instructions

General Instructions:

  1. Open your EndNote Library.
(Use the magnifying glass on the top right to locate EndNote if it is not on your desktop.)
  2. Open a Web Browser, preferrably Firefox, EndNote does not work well with Safari.
  3. Go to MU Libraries home page, select, and search a database.
  4. Mark the citations that interest you.
  5. Look for an option like "Export," "Add to Folder," or "Save."
  6. If prompted choose EndNote or RIS format.
  7. When prompted, select OPEN the citations, navigate to your EndNote software and select EndNote.
    (Video showing this step.)

Mac Users: If you are having difficulties, use a browser other than Safari or try one of these methods

Please note that all pop-up screens or windows open in EndNote must be closed in order for references to be imported into EndNote. Also, if EndNote is open in the background, it is often easier to import references.
