No-shows. If a student does not turn up, click on the appointment in MU Connect, go to Outcomes and tick the box “student missed appointment”. You can also send the student a note via MU Connect:
Cancelling/Rescheduling. If YOU should need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, go to the appointment in MUConnect, click the cancel button and it will allow you to send a note to the student, or click the edit button to suggest a new time.
If you are out sick and need to cancel appointments,
log into your MU Connect account, click on Appointments and navigate to the day in the calendar.
Click on the clock in the Office Hour blue stripe at the top of the day in question
Choose “cancel just this one” (meaning one day, not one appointment) from the cancel drop-down menu… You can then type in a message to the people you had appointments with and the system will send them an appointment cancellation.
If you have a planned absence such as a vacation or a conference, please change the text in your General Overview to indicate the dates and direct people to a back-up librarian. Do not change your “office hours”, as this would delete any appointments in the future. MUConnect reads “busy”, “tentative” and “out of office” as unavailable.
Log into MU Connect, click on your name in the upper right and choose Institutional Profile from the drop-down menu.
Suggested wording: “I will be out of the office from [date] to [date].
For help, please contact [name of back-up librarian(s)]. You can find their schedule under MU Libraries or by
using the MU Connect search box in the upper right.”
