Guide to setting up Endnote for Mac

DO NOT USE SAFARI   - use Firefox of Chrome instead

FIREFOX

  1. Search PubMed as you normally would.
  2. Use the check boxes to mark the items you wish to export to EndNote.
    Click SEND TO(located near the top right next to "FILTER your results" and select CITATION MANAGER and click button CREATE FILE.
  3. Select "OPEN WITH." and navigate to your EndNote application.
  4. Click "OK"
  5. EndNote should download the citations.   

  

CHROME : 

  1. Search PubMed as you normally would.
  2. Use the check boxes to mark the items you wish to export to EndNote.
  3. Click SEND TO and select CITATION MANAGER and click button CREATE FILE.
  4. Chrome puts file in the bottom left corner of your browser. Click the file.
  5. When asked which application to open the file with, navigate to ENDNOTE program. You might have to get to a file with the .enl extension.   Click OK
  6. If you are asked to use a filter, type PUBMED in the search box and select PUBMED NLM. Click OK 
  7. Endnote should download the citations.
