EndNote for Windows

Guide to setting up EndNote for Windows

  1. Search PubMed as you normally would.
  2. Use the check boxes to mark the items you wish to export to EndNote.
Click SEND TO and select FILE and choose Format MEDLINE.  Click CREATE FILE.
  3. Select "OPEN WITH." and navigate to your EndNote application.
  4. Click "OK"
  5. EndNote should download the citations.   I you have problems, look at the video below.

If you are using Chrome, the instructions about need to be modified.  After you have downloaded the file into Chrome, you will not able
to open it with a double click, as you usually do. Instead you will have to open Endnote. and import the file using the PUBMED import filter.
This video shows you how.
