EndNote for Windows

Guide to setting up EndNote for Windows

Ebsco Databases

Ebscohost is a company that we buy many databases from. So Academic Search Complete, PSYCHinfo, Agricola - these are all databases that we buy from the same company. That means you can add things to EndNote the same way. You can tell that a database is an Ebscohost database if it has the Ebscohost logo in the top left.

  1. Search normally.
  2. Click the blue folder icon that is to the right of each reference you want to save.
  3. Select the folder option in the bar at the top of the screen,
  4. In the Folder, select the items you want to export into EndNote by checking the box to the left of each item (or choosing Select All).
  5. Select the Export icon (the piece of paper with green arrow along the left side).
  6. Make sure "Direct Export to EndNote to EndNote, ProCite, or Reference Manager" is selected. Then click Save.
  7. Select "Open." Depending on your browser, this may look different, but you will want to choose to "open" with EndNote or with ResearchSoft Direct Export Helper.
  8. Your results will open in EndNote and be saved in your EndNote library.
