School of Health Professions - Health Psychology - Adult Neurospychology Clinic
Health Psych has offered clinical services to active duty military and to veterans as well. The Adult Neuropsychology Clinic does cognitive and psychological testing, and for awhile there we were seeing patients from Ft. Leonard Wood regularly (weekly) via telehealth. These were men and women who were going through medical/health evaluations as part of being medically discharged. Usually we were evaluating for PTSD and TBI. We did one-time evaluations but didn't provide interventions. We sometimes see vets in the Adult Neuropsych Clinic and can test for cognitive and psych effects associated with PTSD/TBI and make recommendations (to help with decisions about work, school [e.g., need for accommodations], other interventions needed, etc.). Finally, we also see patients who are admitted to Rusk Rehabilitation Center for inpatient rehab, usually after an acute injury (e.g., TBI, spinal cord injury, stroke). Some of these patients are vets, but there's not a specific vet clinic.
