Distance Learners: Troubleshooting

Problems with MERLIN Account

Contact Ellis Library Circulation Desk:

  • Books you have checked out
  • Lost books
  • Replacement of damaged books
  • Items you have requested but have not received
  • Any other access issues

Replacement of lost or damaged books from any school that is not MU should be referred to Ellis Library Circulation Desk. Please do not replace a book before inquiring:

  • Other libraries may not accept replacements
  • MU has requirements that must be met for acceptance

Problems Accessing Databases/Ejournals

Remote access to electronic resources (databases and electronic journals) is available to currently enrolled MU students/Faculty/Staff.  Access is authenticated by the user's PawPrint (MU username and password).

Examples of issues that can affect the access:

  • firewalls that block the proxy server
  • non-MU VPNs activated
  • web browser settings, etc.

Troubleshooting information for dealing with these different issues is available here.  You can also submit a problem report form to request assistance.

MU Extension

Faculty and staff at MU Extension offices may encounter problems with accessing the online resources because of the Extension VPN.

  • Disconnect the Extension VPN to login to the Libraries' proxy server.
  • Submit a problem report form if you still experience problems.
