Storing it All

So now that you have a lot of information, how should you keep track ofand organize it? An RSS reader or a social bookmarking site are both options, but citation management software is a great tool to toganize scholarly research.

Citation management software stores information about books, articles, etc. and can automatically generate a bibliography or works cited for you. It can also save PDF copies of articles. 

The library recommends and teaches classes on:

EndNote

  • free for students and $30 a year for staff through the university
  • Windows and Mac
Zotero
  • open source, so it is free for everyone
  • only works with Firefox
