Generally the most effective way to search for a topic is by using databases, however, sometimes you may want to look at a specific journal. Following is a list of some of the top rated journals in Political Science, according to the 2021 JCR, Journal Citation Reports. Be sure to select the JCR Social Sciences Edition. These are ranked by "impact factor," a measure of their influence in the discipline. While the JCR rankings may be somewhat controversial, they are a well-known standard in academia.
If you want to see models of how to do a literature review, how research is reported, how statistical data is displayed, etc., you can search all of these journals and hundreds more, using the databases listed under the tab, "Finding Articles". You can search by key word or subject to identify specific articles, as well as by author or journal name. The journals listed below and hundreds more are available online via the MU Libraries.
