Tips, techniques & links to help you find answers for your research papers & projects

Getting the Full Article

  •  look for PDFs, or links saying Free Full Text when searching CINAHL, MEDLINE, Scopus, Google Scholar, etc
  •  Select the FindIT@MU button, if PDF or free full text isn't available.
  • Use our Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service to request articles we don't subscribe to.  ILL is free to you. Delivery is by campus email and takes approximately 1 to 2 business days.
  • Older articles may be available for free from the publisher.  (Older usually means 12 months or more since publication.)
  • Search in PubMed Central http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/
  • DON'T limit your search to full text.  You'll miss out on articles we subscribe to and articles you could order through ILL.

  Getting Books

  •  You can request books through Interlibrary loan for free. Chapters are treated like articles. (See ILL service above.)
  •  For eBooks or print books in the MU Libraries, use the Book Finder https://library.missouri.edu/bookfinder/
