The patron in whose name a book has been checked out is responsible for damages to the book from the time the book was checked out at the Circulation Desk until it is returned to our library. Although we make every attempt to note any damage to books that are lent to us by other libraries before checking them out to our patrons, it is helpful if patrons also look for damage. Should a patron notice any significant damage to a book that is being lent to him/her, this should be brought to the attention of the Circulation Supervisor, or the Interlibrary Loan Specialist as soon as possible before or after checkout.
